Our Family

Our Family
We are a Christian family, who chooses to home-school year round. Our motto with home-schooling is civilized not socialized. We want our children to love each other and enjoy being in our family. Yes we do interact with others every day but we try to make our interactions meaningful and productive. Natural medicine is our choice of healthcare and maintenance. Chiropractic care, massage, supplements, essential oils and exercise are part of our daily life. We participate in multiple sports including but not limited to gymnastics, lacrosse, hockey, volleyball, running, swimming, mountain biking and tennis. We like to explore fresh foods and eat healthy. We look forward to sharing our adventures in life with you!

Beautiful Patience

After a beautiful patience building 45 minute wait this morning; Cassie and I were able to see the doctor regarding her arm.  Tendinitis just like we thought... physical therapy, arm brace, continue icing etc...  She can play volleyball it will just hurt but will not cause further damage.  After the appointment we went to Maurice's for jeans for Cassie and then Kohl's to pick up a pair of shoes for Mackenzie.  Of course we couldn't resist going through the clearance shoe section at Kohl's....

Everyone should have a pair of these right?  :-)
We did decide to leave them behind for some other "lucky" shopper.

The rest of the day was fairly uneventful, mostly working on school assignments with the kiddos.  I did make up two more raw food experiments.  Today is day 4 of the raw food cleanse and Cassie is definitely ready to be done with it.  I don't really mind it but it does require a lot of "chopping time" in place of the cooking time.  So today's creations are:

Raw Zucchini with avocado and pea pesto

We made walnut tacos for dinner.  They were yummy.  Thomas even asked to try them.  After his sample bite he asked to please have a whole one for himself .  Here's the link for them http://mydarlingvegan.com/2013/01/raw-taco-salad/

This raw food adventure has been great for finding meals and snacks for Mackenzie too as she is a vegetarian.

The boys just went back out to race their RC trucks.   They spent some of their free time today re-making their course.  Pa used a brush hog on a section of a field behind our garden/pool area and the boys have been steadily raking at that area in preparation to make it into a "real" dirt course for their vehicles but for now they are still racing around on the grass.
